All registration and payment must be completed before the day of the tournament. EVERYONE on board your vessel over the age of 12 must have a valid registration. Children under 12 only need to register if they intend to fish. If they are spectators only, they do not need to register. This year we are adding a 50/50 sculpin side pot, $5 buy in, check the box at the bottom when you register to be included.

Eligible Fish

Any legally caught Flounder, Sole, Sanddab, Turbot, or other flatfish (excluding Pacific Halibut) will qualify for weigh-in for the main prizes. Any legally caught sculpin will qualify for the 50/50 sculpin side pot.

Prizes

CASH prizes will be awarded for the five heaviest fish. Prize details will be announced in the coming weeks!

Fishing

  • All fishing must be done from a watercraft—boats, canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, float tubes, etc. are all legal.
  • No fishing from shore is allowed.
  • Anglers may launch from anywhere but must fish in Marine Area 6 and must travel by water to the weigh station.
  • Fishing begins at 5:33 AM (Dawn) and is enforced by the honor system.
  • Anglers are discouraged from making landfall before weigh-in to help reduce claims of foul play or cheating.

Body of Water

Participants must fish in Marine Area 6 for the event. Fishing must be legal and in public waters only. Participants may fish in any water within MA6 that is open to public fishing.

Weigh-In

  • The weigh station will open at 12:00 PM (Noon).
  • Each angler may weigh in one fish for the main prize pool and one additional sculpin for the 50/50 side pot.
  • Weigh-in will take place at the commercial loading dock in the Port Angeles Boat Haven. See map below.
  • All fish must be brought to the weigh station by watercraft and presented by the angler who caught the fish, along with valid ID and proof of registration.
  • Fish will be inspected, weighed, and documented before being returned to the angler. All fish will be checked for tampering or foreign objects—don’t be THAT guy!
  • The weigh station closes at 3:00 PM. All vessels must be in the immediate area and in queue within the marina by that time. Final judgment is at the discretion of the weighmaster and tournament director. Don’t cut it close—get in early!
